Busy Week

So things were a bit busy around here this past week.  The garden has been growing and keeping us on our toes while the soap pot could barely stay empty.  As I type, the honeysuckle soaps sit contentedly curing.  The beer soap wafts across the room and teases my nose; there is a small mold begging me to make up just one more batch and fill it up so it won’t be left out of the party.  Some of the new soaps for summer are almost ready for pictures.  What a great week!  I will post pictures of the new soaps soon.

What I can post right now is our cute Mother’s Day boxes we worked on last week too.  One of my buddies had seen these cute boxes and inspiration struck her.  It can seem hard for the Dads & kids sometimes to find something unique and fun each year for Mom.  These make great gifts from the kids to Grandma also!  These currently are filled with small sample sized portions of soaps  in stock and are $7 each plus tax.  They can also be filled with Mom’s favorite regular sized bars but contact me for pricing and availability.  If you are ordering for Mother’s Day and have any concerns about shipping, please let me know!

Mother's Day Gift Boxes 2012

As for now, I must return to the kitchen.  Not to soap.  Oh no, not this time.  No pretty swirling or fun smells for me.  Sigh.  This time, we must clean up our mess from all the fun we had.  Someone crank up the music!  Hope your week has a least a little soapy fun in it too!

Happy Washing!

And the winner of the drawing is…

All the names have been placed into the soap pot and stirred around until at least a light trace has been achieved… Sorry, soap humor there.  We are happy to announce that winner of the giveaway weekend is Angela Greer!  Congratulations on your three bar gift bag and hope that it puts a smile on your face.  Please check your email for details and respond to us soon!  For those who did not win, please don’t fret! I had fun with this and fully plan to hold another one at a later date.  I also owe a huge thank you to Jenny Henderson, my Pampered Chef buddy, who took the time around her moving to make sure my goodies were out at the market.  She helped set up the drawing out at the market and recommends the chocolate soap too!  Here’s a pic of one of the displays she made for both us.

Jenny's Display

Thanks again Jenny.  If anyone needs great kitchen items, just let her know.  She can be found at www.pamperedchef.biz/jennyhenderson and my recommendation list could go on for a while….

What is cooking around here this week?  Spring is in the air and my kitchen smells sweet.  The breeze that blows in smells of our orange blossoms in the yard, honeysuckle wafts from the curing racks, and the sage and citrus scrub teases my nose.  All of the pretty green shoots in the garden make me smile and I play with ideas of green soap.  Beautiful blue skies inspire another run with the soap colors.  Maybe try again with the flames in the bars?  Can I match the color of some of these flowers here in the garden?  Anything ready to be harvested yet that I can play with?  I’ve had inspiration strike again while daydreaming in the sun- back to the soap pots!

Happy Washing!

Donna’s Market Giveaway

I know it is completely unheard of for me to post twice in one day and, luckily for posterity, it is actually on the record.  I almost knocked myself out of my chair.  OK, now that I’m done amazing us all, I’ll move on to the announcement.

In honor of Donna’s Neighborhood Market this weekend, we are doing a drawing for a free three bar gift bag.  To be eligible for the drawing, you have your choice of three options:  regular purchase/preorder sales with valid email provided, following our blog, or signing up for updates while you are Donna’s Market.  Although her market is only on Saturday, March 31st from 10am – 3pm, we are opening it up to everyone online and we see in person from March 30th at 9am until April 1, 2012, at 12pm.  The winner will be notified by email by midnight on April 2, 2012.  The winner may immediately redeem their prize from stock on hand or choose from upcoming releases.

If you will be in her area, come check out Donna’s Market around Cypress, TX.  It will be located at 18315 Kenmark Lane, Cypress, TX 77433.  You will find lots of great people, interesting items, and friendly smiles.  Although I won’t personally make it this time, I will have limited stock on hand along with our brochures & cards next to Jenny’s Pampered Chef display.  I hope to make Donna’s next Market Day though and look forward to seeing everyone then!

Happy Washing!
