“It is a lotion but it is solid at room temp? What the heck?!?”
That was our reaction to these little wonders at first also. We were used to lotions that would leave our skin greasy or irritated and we were intrigued by the idea of a healthy alternative. After some researching and practice, we created our version of this wonderful lotion. It is incredibly gentle, portable, convenient, and leaves your skin feeling heavenly. Our testers have praised them for being the best lotion they have ever used, great for mechanics and gardeners, relief for some skin irritations, and the most fun and customizable product to date. Since this product is so fun and easy to make, our stock changes often. Check in regularly to see what’s new and grab your favorites before they’re gone!
All of our solid lotion bars are made with natural cocoa and shea butters, which add a scent of their own to the bars. Unless otherwise stated, the balance of the bar is made with beeswax, a carrier oil, and scented as noted in the variety. The unscented variety will still have a smell of cocoa and shea butters. We do not color our lotion bars.
The travel tins are refillable and we encourage you to reuse or recycle them where available. The larger lotion are packaged in a reusable metal tin and weighs 1 ounce. Mini lotions (when available) are .5 oz and we again encourage you to reuse or recycle the tins.
Please note: This product melts at body temperatures. Please close your tin securely before placing into pockets. Do not store under heat or product will melt.
Looking for an empty replacement tin? See our tins in gift packaging for your options.
Q: My lotion bar got too hot and melty. When I let it cool, it got a bit grainy. How can I fix this?
A: The butters and beeswax in our lotion bars melt at different temperatures. As they cool, they will solidify at different rates too. Our recommendation for a bar that has firmed back up grainy is to allow it to melt again, keeping your lid tightly on, and place it in the fridge for a few moments to quickly cool it down. It usually produces as smooth product again. If you find yours won’t behave, please email us so we may help you.
