Welcome to the online home of Texas Pioneer Creations!
We are a family owned company located near Houston, Texas, that produces handmade soaps and more for your whole family. We officially opened in 2011 after many requests to share our soaps with the world. We like to work with local area suppliers for the freshest oils and many of our herbs and ingredients are home-grown for quality control. Being the self-proclaimed nerds that we are, historical research is part of our preferred past time also. We have spent many joyful hours studying topics ranging from agricultural practices, historical dress, realities of daily life in the 1800s and 1900s, homesteading, homemaking skills, vintage crafts, and many more topics. There have been many a time Dorothy’s been caught happily buried in old journals, scribbling notes and planning something new to make from what she was reading.
We strive to help preserve the soapmaking craft, help the soap community expand their knowledge base and techniques, educate the public on better for them options in their personal grooming lives, create new versions of old favorites and customer creations, and continue our ongoing research. We also own and operate our micro-farm in the Houston area where we grow many of our ingredients. When possible and locally allowed, we can bring surplus garden harvest to the local markets we work at.
There are some scents that we try to always keep in stock but we love to make new ideas come to life! Have a certain scent or shape you were looking for? Looking for something special for your party or event? Please let us know! Some of our customer requests have become our personal favorites and we are always interested in a new idea. We are happy to sit down with you and design your own special soaps. Most of our soaps are created by the cold process method of soaping but over the years we have expanded our skills. We added both hot process and melt and pour soaps, salts and teas, lotion bars, and balms so that we can better serve our customers. Our stock changes often so be sure to sign up for Dorothy’s blog updates- don’t miss out on a great creation!

We recognize that soap making and bath and beauty products are not new in this world and, as such, there are many well known recipes and techniques. We strive to help preserve the soapmaking craft, help the soap community expand their knowledge base and techniques, educate the public on better for them options in their personal grooming lives, create new versions of old favorites and customer creations, and continue our ongoing research of anything soap related. We do not want to copy another person’s works but realize that can be tricky at times and will not knowingly present any other person’s ideas or photos as our own. We strive to both exceed our customer’s expectations and, unless given specifically in writing, we do not authorize anyone else to use our ideas or photos either. If you would like to use our ideas, work, images, or anything else, please contact us and Dorothy will be happy to discuss it further. The ideas we present, unless noted otherwise, are our own based on personal experience and/or research. The images, outside of external advertising, are owned by Texas Pioneer Creations. Hi — do you have a soap scented like a kind of hippie scent? Like with patchouli and nutmeg or sandalwood?
Yes! We have patchouli bars listed separately but it is also blended into the Dragons Blood, Guiness Extra Stout, Lone Star Sandalwood, and Bud Lite bars. Sandalwood is also currently available in the Shiner and Miller Lite bars. Nutmeg sounded like a fun idea again so we let Dorothy know you’d asked. We’ll keep you posted on any that come out this fall with nutmeg.
Thanks for asking!
